The Futures+ Tour is designed to offer more local competitive opportunities for junior players in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife and act as a natural follow on for the popular 8U Team Tennis Tour.
As part of the East of Scotland's Futures programme the tour offers events at local venues throughout the region giving young players the chance to compete closer to home against players from other clubs.
⭐ For junior club players, the tour offers those at the 9U, 10U & 12U stages exposure to a formal match environment offering an ideal stepping stone between club and regional competitions.
⭐ For more experienced junior players, the tour will give the chance to practice their tactics and skills in a match environment without any ranking point pressure although results will be recorded on the LTA website.
⭐ For club coaches, the tour offers a great way for players to put the skills they learn in training into real match scenarios and provide another opportunity to players to get on the court.
⭐ For the county coaching team, the tour is an ideal way to see players from local clubs in a competitive environment and offer appropriate feedback or information on the pathway for a competitive junior player.
⭐ An event will run for approx three hours and will feature various tournament formats (round robin, compass draw etc).
⭐ Matches will use a ‘short and sharp’ format. One set to just four or six games, depending upon the draw size, allowing players to have as many different matches against as many different opponents as possible.
⭐ The minimum draw size for an event will be six players and the maximum will be twelve players. Entries will be on a first come, first served basis with signup via Clubspark.
